Stairway to Heaven
The sky is a big place just above your head. People point up to it and say all sorts of things live there including God. I also remember it was the place people looked when they spoke about Heaven, Angels and God. They gave me the impression it was the place “they” took poor old Grandpa to. “He was in Heaven,” they said in a chorus of bobbing and nodding heads. Heaven takes all kinds – as evidence the preacher who dispatched Hollie O’Dell from Gordon, Ohio, to be among angels in Heaven. He was the only man I knew who called out to God in some way whenever he spoke a sentence – he was always asking God to damn somebody or something. Mom called it, “cussing” and “swearing,” and “taking the lord’s name in vain.” But he did it anyway and went to Heaven according to the preacher.

You've put me in such a serious mood, Abe. My post tomorrow is a reflection of what I'm getting from you. You see what an influence you are on me.
Like this post! :))
That's one to ponder over. Great shot of the plane. Helen
Hey Abe, I'm glad you pop out of semi-hibernation to give us thoughts to ponder.
awesome catch!
Wow, Abe, you must life near the airport...or God. :^)
My folks were part of the Early Warning System in the early Fifties. They and other citizens in the little town of Shelby, Montana, about thirty miles from the Canadian Border, watched the Northern sky for "Russians" who were going to fly their planes from that direction and bomb us - or at least that's what my sister and I understood of it. When you're four or five I think that you get the very simplistic version of something not even the adults are capable of explaining.
Some could use a ladder, a balloon or a microlight... or dreams.
Did he go to heaven on that plane?
Abe,
That sure is a low flying plane-
Your sure are thinking a lot about this -about God. Keep thinking
vickie
Great shot of the plane! I also wondered about why people look up when addressing God. Then I figured God is everywhere so it doesn't matter which way I look ... it's a matter of personal expression.
I sure hope you were using your telephoto to get that shot. Or you are now deaf from the sound. Words to ponder.
Scary picture. On the nose of the plane, the tree gives the plane a shark like apprearence. Duck, it sure is low.
As a child I always thought heaven was somewhere down in the south-west : and then I realised that was "Devon" and not heaven!
Fabulous shot Abe!
I expected a bird and got a plane... lovely alternative shot.
Abe, I love your style of hibernation. I'm seeing that you are picking and choosing what you will do and see each day and that is fantastic! You've earned the right to do whatever the heck you feel like, every single day!
This is a great photo - I love airplanes and really love sky shots! Thank you, as always, for sharing!
You are full of great stories Abe. Love the photo.
Hi Abe,
I like this post-:)
Highly relevant philosophic thoughts....
Best regards
Asta
Thoughts to ponder over, Abe.
I wonder how many Dimensions there are?.
A five-year old boy was playing with his bow and arrows and aiming at the sky, but he lowered his bow and looked up saying :"Sorry Jesus".
Thanks for your visit and have a nice hibernation, Abe!
Welcome back Abe, how's hibernation? Well nice to see you blog again.
Wow that plane looks low. I seldom see a jet over my house--not on their pathway--thank goodness. Does this one have passengers for heaven? It's going up that a way. MB
I am pleased that you've popped out of hibernation for a bit! Heaven to me as a child was above the clouds, a mysterious place full of beautiful angels. Guess I'm just gonna have to wait to see for myself!
Wonderful photo--oh, this one does indeed fill my eyes. You had to have been in the right place at the right time.
The skies are indeed filled with angels--and kites, bubbles, balloons, and airplans!! I don't know that heaven is "up there." Perhaps it is located in another dimension...Hmmmm...food for thought.
Great photo, Abe. It looks like the plane is resting in the tree.
I was interested in your musings on God. I think part of the problem is that mankind takes His words and skews them to their own agenda instead of asking Him for help in applying them to their own lives.
